The Environment
Keep it Green
We want to be credited with responsible stewardship of the festival site, for one thing we live here, and to impact the local and global environment as litle as possible. We will be instigating procedures to minimise waste and our carbon footprint. We were banging on about this at our earliest festivals so there is no reason to change now. However we have to work with you to achieve this so please have a look at what we plan and what you can do to help.
Travel:
Public transport: Please use public transport where possible. Info will be on the Travel and Directions page nearer the time.
Car Share: If you have a spare place in your car why not register it at Freewheelers and arrange to give somebody a lift! If you need a lift take a look as well, somebody may be coming from near you. Save money and reduce carbon emissions. You will also be saving on the £5.00 car park tariff when you arrive.
Waste: We will be using waste collectors who will be recycling suitable products. You can help by using the appropriate waste containers, this is one of the easiest ways to help us at the weekend, so please do your best.
Energy: We will be striving to cut down on energy consumed at the festival, zoning generators so they can be turned off when not needed and using the least power possible. Due to controversy over the use of bio-diesel at the moment we have decided that with the higher cost of hiring such generators that their environmental credentials are not necessarily worth it.
Leave No Trace: We want to leave the farm as beautiful as you found it, so will be making sure that every last piece of rubbish is picked up. How you can help: either don’t drop it and use waste bins or help by picking stuff up. We would also ask smokers to carry an old 35mm film case to put your stubs in, thewildlife doesn’t really want to chew on them!
